Hans Hasselgren,

A McKinsey survey pinpoints that HR departments still use up to 60 percent of their time on transactional and operational tasks. What will happen when HR steps out of its traditional silo and embraces a more strategic role? How can new technologies pave the way for that change?

Tech is certainly on HR managers’ agenda; according to a global PwC survey on Human Resources Technology, 74 percent of the respondents intend to increase the investments in technology and 79 percent plan to use artificial intelligence for HR processes by 2022. Smart technology that improves and digitalizes the hiring process, is the most important investment area.

This whitepaper outlines HR’s new role as a value driver at the center of the business. It explores the potential for automation in HR, the use of data, gamification and AI, the advantages to be expected from outsourcing of processes, and why change management is such an essential factor. It also introduces Cognizant’s Global Center of Excellence for HR situated in Norway.
