Who really runs the digitalization?

Who really runs the digitalization?

Who do you think runs the digitalization in most organizations? And who runs it in your organization?

We asked these questions to the participants during our latest Snapshot Breakfast. The results are both interesting and contradictory.

First, we asked how important Governance is in the digital transformation. Almost all (94%) the participants felt that it was very important or important.

But interestingly, while most (82%) believe that the CMO and CIO run the digitalization in other organizations, in their own organization it is run by the CEO (50%) or the CIO (32%).

Only 11% said it is run by the CMO in their own organization.

What does this mean? Where does this discrepancy come from?

Here you can see the data and make up your own mind.

Where are you in the digitalization process? Who runs it in your organization? Is it still the CEO and the CIO, or has the CMO's role grown?
