Cognizant recruits new Nordic cloud transformation specialist

Cognizant strengthens its Cloud, Infrastructure & Security (CIS) offerings by the recruitment of Sophus Slaatta. The experienced Cloud, Infrastructure & Security Nordics Commercial Lead, operating from Oslo, will help Cognizant clients across the region advance their cloud journeys.

Sophus Slaatta will work with the local account and sales teams to grow Cognizant’s CIS footprint in existing as well as new logos across the Nordic Region. He adds 10+ years of cloud experience to the team; he recently led the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services business in Norway, and has worked at Microsoft as well as with Google Cloud as a business partner.

“Cognizant has an exciting position in the Nordics and is recognized as a leader in cloud,” says Sophus Slaatta. “Cognizant hasn’t invested in its own data centers but has rather fine-tuned its capabilities and best practices when it comes to utilizing the three major cloud platform providers AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, exactly where my main competence is.”

Most Nordic enterprises have a cloud-first strategy and have employed different cloud-based SaaS solutions, and are using one or more cloud platforms. Sophus Slaatta will help these companies, across industries, to accelerate their cloud initiatives, cloud migrations and app modernizations for better, faster business outcomes. As security is a central part of every cloud initiative, Sophus Slaatta will also support clients on security aspects on the basis of his hard-to-beat experience.

Prior to AWS, Sophus Slaatta advised organizations on their IT, cloud and sourcing strategies at EY, was the Managing Director of the cloud-native system integrator Nordcloud’s Norwegian business, and held leadership roles at Microsoft and Capgemini. Sophus holds a Bachelor of Management from BI Norwegian Business School and attended The Norwegian School of Entrepreneurship at the University of Oslo.
